I know you'll always be with me, no matter where I roam." © Mary E. Richards On May 23, 2005 The Wall Gang lost our shining star, Kate "Lovie" Kintzele, in an accident during the trip from Sacramento, California back home to Michigan City, Indiana to establish the "Northern Route" for the annual Memorial Day trip to Washington, DC for ceremonies at The Vietnam Memorial Wall. I cannot begin to tell you what a loss this is for her husband, Ed "Silvertop", or her family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them. I do know what a loss this will be for The Wall Gang, as Kate was such a very special lady. If you were to ask every member of The Wall Gang what made Kate dear to them, you would get a different answer from each person. ![]() Kate was the "go-to" person, whether it be printing flyers, organizing fund-raisers, or helping deliver anniversary wishes. If there was a obstacle, she would move it, or find away around it. "I can't..." was not in her vocabulary, neither was "I give up..." It just wasn't in her. What was in her was a heart of gold who would do everything in her power to "get 'er done", all while being one of the most charming women I have had the honor to meet. ![]() As Kate would have wanted, The Wall Gang will finish their ride to DC to honor U.S. Army Master Sgt. Charles W. Lindewald, and all POW/MIA's and Vietnam Vets, but as we do, we honor one of our own, one of our best. With A Heavy Heart, Brenda Steinbeck Webmaster ![]() I Can Only Imagine...
